you should just autolock posts older then 3-4 months~, this shit happens all the same and is annoying as fck.

That is not a good idea. Some members continue their threads for years adding new content.

That's true, maybe its possible to have only OP's be able to "open" their threads, not sure if there's such a feature for phpbb-forums.

There's no such feature. And sometimes archive members feel the need to comment on old files they found in the archives ... which I think is a good thing. I'm afraid we'll have to put up with members asking for old files.
