Pressure difference due to air conditioning

Post by Peanutbutter »

Hi all. I was hoping someone experienced might be able to assist with this... I have a Sony ICD-PX333. I decided to place it inside my door at the base and record overnight just to see if I could pick up any sounds. The problem was that the hallway was air conditioned and I had my air conditioner off. Thus there was a breeze blowing into my room and so the recording is just an annoying sound of wind in the microphone. Is there a trick to stop the wind on the microphone like a diffuser? Also thinking about it, maybe having my air conditioner on would have equalised the air and stopped this problem. Next time!
