Hi everyone!

After more than a year away from this place, I’m happy to say I’m finally back... and Marc still lives here (and still fucking )

I do have a quick issue, though. I used to have an iPhone 13 mini, which recorded background noises really well from the bottom of my door. BUT since then, I gave it away and got an iPhone 16E. I don't know if it's the new audio AI or background filtering, but it’s been absolutely terrible at picking up ambient sounds.

I had to use an old 1st-gen iPhone SE today to record him (i will post soon), but the quality is still not really good.

I just tweaked my iPhone 16 settings to fix this: I switched the Mic Mode to Standard, enabled Lossless audio quality, turned on Mono recording, and turned off all voice isolation/enhancement features. Hopefully, this brings back that raw, natural sound, because it's the weekend and I'll be recording other sounds tonight !

With regard to phone recording, although I have not been lucky with sounds for this forum, I have an iPhone 16, and do other recordings with it and it works really great… so I hope you find the right settings but also wonder if maybe it is a problem with hour phone! Fingers crossed!
