I couldn't resist speeding through all of them very quickly, and I noticed the recorder
appears to be getting closer and closer to them with each passing day, in a creepy kind of
way.

All the files sound great. I'll have a proper listen to them over the weekend.

The first day its close (14 Jan file), the last day its close. The rest of them its far away. It sounds like there is traffic in the corridor

Admit it, when you first heard sounds yourself you were too afraid to get closer. But then you got closer and closer. Then you started to record

My very first recording was of a couple (an escort/stripper and a sadistic-sounding guy) having a session in the
apartment next to mine. Yes, I guess I recorded them from the safety of my own window sill.

But following this one recording, I went all-out crazy, getting as close as I could, whenever I had the opportunity.
And I didn't have any of those mini USBs back then, which you can hide really easily. I had a Sony recorder, which I
would place on the next door bedroom's window sill, while I was stood there listening. Very risky behaviour, given
that a couple would easily be able to see me or the recorder through the window shutters during the daytime.
Oh, and I could've even been spotted by someone staying in one of the other apartments.

Later, after I became a member of this forum, I became even bolder/crazier by sneaking into the sleaziest hotel
I could safely infiltrate - again, with a big handheld recorder, no mini USBs.

Personally, I think the riskiest kind of behaviour is when you record couples close to where you live, e.g. the
same apartment block. It's like shitting where you eat.

Shitting where you eat is very true.

I was cautious. It was in student dorm where there was high traffic and you couldn't stand outside unless it was the late hours of the morning. Even before I ever thought of recording (I still regret it)

And if anyone saw you standing outside a room with sex noises in a flat of 12 students, then you didn't want to be that person. Especially since they would know you for your entire university life.

This was when you didn't have phones where you could pretend you were scrolling on social media aa you were passing by. There was a time when social media on phones didn't exist, I just realised

Also if the corridor was T shaped or L shaped so you had to be super careful if your room/kitchen wasn't in that direction.
