I see a pattern but let´s wait for more responses.

The pattern I see and assumed as similar problems occcured years ago: Apple products. What I learned over the years as web administrator: Apple gives a fuck on web standards (html5 here) and every update of their systems gives you a risk of things outside their world not working anymore.
So far there have always been workarounds and if the pattern gets clearer, i hope new workarounds will be shared here.

FYI, just checked on my I-phone and experiencing exactly the same issue as on the MacBook.

FYI, just checked on my I-phone and experiencing exactly the same issue as on the MacBook.

All my software is up to date on I-phone & MacBook, last one released by Apple was a month or so ago.

Let´s see what other members say, but this seems a realistic explanation. Everything as usual on my 2 Anroids and my Windows Laptop.

That´s no good news, meaning it is not an Apple but a browser problem. So far only firefox seems to continue playing files as before on the html5 audio player. Brave, Edge, Opera, Chrome and Vivaldi all base on the same browser engine (Chromium), so they won´t play sounds the usual way, Safari also not. Fuck.
I did not find another extension playing audio files on phpBB so I don´t see a solution yet.

Just found this (Google search for "chromium engine"):
"Chromium: Completely open-source. It lacks proprietary audio/video codecs (like AAC or MP3), ..."

I'm using Microsoft Edge. I noticed the change very recently with every uploaded sound.
Very annoying! I have to fully download every file I'm interested in.

I use an smartphone with old android versuon (12).
So it seem thay independant fron device, os.
I try the computer compatibilities with brave. Same result

If i download the. Mp3 file, i can 'drive' the sound track in the brave browser.
It seem to be in the api of the recorder. May be, there is an update of the chromium core
?

There is an update for brave browser.
The update contains an correction for some extension, and an update for the chromium..
May be is there an update for the others browsers...
Now it is better, but not for all files..

Same for Duckduckgo browser on Android. Everything looks the same as before but unable to skip around in the player, same for every recording

Listening (and not recording) problem :

I still can listen to mp3 files on the forum, but I can't pick moments on them anymore...an example : if I want to move to 1min55, I can't do it anymore, I have to start from zero and I can't even go back if I want to...like I have to start from zero all the time.

Hope it's clear.

Thought it's a problem with my phone, but turns out mp3 files play just fine on other websites.
Maybe problem with the website ? I don't know.

Hi, listening to audio recently, I cannot skip forward on members audios without first downloading the audio. Is this an error or a new feature?
