I have lived all over the country and spent time in A LOT of hotels and there is something about San Francisco that separates itself from the pack. Something about the city attracts people that seem to be more attractive and more amorous than other cities. As I walk through a hallway in a San Francisco hotel, it is more rare to not hear 'sounds' than to hear them. The city (and surrounding area) is a voyeur's paradise.
