You need to place the device somewhere. Now, you move around way too much and the shuffling around is a turn off sadly

To your point, you'll occasionally hear other captures here where the recording device is moved every ten seconds and you're wondering what on Earth is going on?

I agree with you, but everyones capture situation is different. Maybe there is more traffic in this hotel. Sometimes the uploader is not confident and has to be safe

Its always better be safe than sorry

A good rule would be to record for yourself. IF the uploader is happy with ihs recording, then I think its a reasonable recording.

As an example, I personally do not like wall mics. I would prefer a shorter, clearer and a bit of a distorted recording than a muffled wall mic. But some users love them.
