Hey guys, I'm totally new to this. Can you please recommend me a hardware setup to listen through walls? The girl's unit is exactly on top of us. And she is mostly active in 02:00 (AM) to 07:00 (AM) , so the noises will be minimal.
I want to hear and record at the same time.
Do these even work?

Thanks
I used one of these for a while and , yes, they do work - it's a little better than pressing your ear against the wall
But they need to have a good contact against the wall (so the wall needs to be flat) and you need to find a good way to keep it pressed against the wall.
If you hold it with your hand you will find that it will move so you get extra noise both from your hand and as it moves against the wall
I found the best way was to use a soft backed chair to wedge it in place.
Also be aware that if the wire out of the device moves then that also gives crackles, so I found the bvest thing to do was to use a laptop to do the recording that was placed on the same chair that held the devise in place against the wall.
Finally avoid any temptation to press your ear against the same wall to listen directly because that will be picked up by the microphone.....
I never managed to get one to work on the ceiling because of these issues
