it works with regular AV equipment but unfortunately it is not sensitive enough with a microphone. bugger. waste of $100. :(

did you try with a preamplified mic / with a battery powered mic? I guess, this could work better but I'm far from being an expert.

ah, good point. now just to find one and to ensure it is powered all the time!

thanks for the suggestion!

okay, having trouble finding a preamplified microphone standalone, but did find a powered colour cmos camera with built in microphone. while i won't need the camera and it will be completely out of sight, the microphone should do a good job of pick up. the thing is DC powered so it is simply a case of hiding away the camera and transmitter and power supplies. fairly easy job.

have ordered it. let's see if it helps.

okay, it kinda works but i was having trouble with wifi interference on my wireless access point. fiddling with channels has helped before but it was causing disconnects with one of my laptops so i kinda gave up. ended up managing to use my UTP cabling into the room. will post details in that thread.

Had a similar problem with dropped signals myself. I used a program called "NetStumbler". It identified the channels that were in use and the signal strength coming in. I was able to find a channel that had no interfearence.
