what is a good mic? to capture neighbors sounds?

i am looking for any suggestions for a mic thats can record a lot of sound from next door neighbors in hotels etc.
i just found out i love hearing sounds coming from others.
and sharing them with you guys.
i also love to hear what others recorded.
