It definitely is a real recording, however I agree that this can't be recorded behind a door. Obviously the recording device was inside the room, and it was moved or touched during recording. This makes me doubt it's his Mom, too.
So it is either a faked background story or something weird is going on. Either way makes me back off

I can confidently say it's real and I've been doing it for years now. I've explained this before, but I place my phone under the door where there's a huge gap with the mic pointed inwards and its able to capture extremely well with voice memos. Their lights are usually off or extremely dim, so I get away with pushing it in pretty deep to capture better. The touching and moving of the phone is most certainly me, as I get nervous sometimes with thinking if they can see the phone and also sometimes its just me adjusting to get better sound. Also I've even recorded videos of me doing the process and recording her lol, not sure what else I can do to convince people.
The audio is clearly worse in the vid as compared to voice memos which is designed for audio, videos aren't as good at capturing the sounds.
I record videos sometimes though since I and many people do like being able to see something, even if its just the door lol.

If one day I'm able to place a recording device in her room to get even better sound, that would great. Only problem is finding the right device and also being able to time it for when she has sex and placing it in her room. I'm able to capture the sounds just fine currently so I don't really feel the need to change things.

This isn't a random irl you're recording, this is your mother. Though the group keep asking for more and recordings of better quality, that's not worth the relationship in your family.
And when I listen to your recording, I have the idea that your mom has a reason to be so quiet. That reason is to keep this private moment of her private.
