CCBill working again for UK accounts

It seems like customers from the UK cannot subscribe using CCBill anymore. Due to a customer this probably has to do with the new UK rules regarding online access to adult material. I asked CCBill about it and this is their answer:
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do at the moment, this is a reported ongoing issue that our Backend team is working on, i can only add your account to the list of affected accounts for now. We will inform you once this is resolved.
Existing recurring subscriptions seem to end once they need to be renewed, new ones have been declined in the last few weeks. Until this problem has been resolved, PayPal seems to be the only alternative for subscribers from the UK.

Looks like it's really the banks in the UK that are blocking the transactions?

I have no recent information from CCBill but today the first new subscription from the UK came in! If you're from the UK and got a denial, you might consider to try again now.

Update:
There are still denials saying "Card by country validation required for this account". I guess this means the age identification by credit card process that is needed for UK customers as adult validation.
For those who go through this process (once), the subscription works.

A little more information on this topic by Google AI:

As of 2025–2026, UK regulations—primarily driven by the Online Safety Act 2023—require platforms providing "harmful" or adult content to implement "highly effective" age verification.
Credit card checks are a primary, authorized method for this, as UK law mandates that credit card issuers must verify that an applicant is at least 18 years old before providing them with a card.
Credit Card vs. Debit Card: Credit cards are specifically used for age verification because they require the user to be 18+. Debit cards do not qualify for this type of age assurance in many of these systems, as they can be issued to minors.
