Hello everyone,
it took a while since
I posted, but I have another recording for you.
Last week we had a couple of students from Poland staying with us. The guy is tall, solidly built, with a mustache. The girl has brown hair, not particularly pretty; not the type you’ll remember for long.
I placed the recorder in the room next to the guest accommodation. Unfortunately, I was away that weekend. Because of that, it could happen that the outside door was left open and a lot of traffic noise can be heard.
The audio quality of the recording is not very good. It seems that our guests are having sex in the shower, which is about 5 meters away from the wall where the recorder was placed.

I've been waiting for an audio like this to test out using Audacity along with an AI tool to lower the noise and bring out the voices. I hope you don't mind me using your audio.
I think it has done a pretty good job, definitely easier on the ears while also bringing out her voice more. The 3 minute mark shows it off well.
Great job with the recording!

If you can, Please share the tools/presets.

Thank you so much for your cleanup. Can you share the tool/plugin you used in Audacity and the parameters?
tried the same thing in Reaper useing the Waves Clarity VX plugin. It filtered too harsh for my ears.
In the recording I shared I used the Silk vocal plugin (Raw female) preset, and some ReaEQ frequency filtering.

I didn't use a plugin for Audacity, I just played around with the tools to lower the background noise overall and raise the quiet voices. This allows the AI to recognise the voices even with all the background noise going on and single it out. Here are some of the settings I messed with:
Effect -> Volume and Compression -> Compressor
Effect -> EQ and Filters -> Filter Curve EQ
Effect -> Noise Removal and Repair -> Noise Reduction
Effect -> Volume and Compression -> Loudness Normalization
I just played around with these, I don't remember the exact settings and it will probably be different for every audio anyway. Overdoing it will add a hissing noise though, so be careful with how far you push it.
I don't know if I'm allowed to post links to stuff in here, but if you search "AI Voice Enhancer" there are a few tools. I alternate between them since most of them only give you a couple a month for free. I had to run this one through the voice enhancer a few times for best results, and using different AI tools to do this can produce better results.
This is the first time I've done this as well, I did it just for a bit of fun, but if I try it on another audio I can document what I did and let you know in better detail

thank you for your answer. thought you have used OpenVino Ai plugin. That's a free tool you can use in Audacity.
Last year I posted a serie of recordings when a student from Hungary stayed here for some month. You can find it under the name Emese in the title. If it is allowed by Yeppie can post a raw file so you can experiment with it.

Fine for me.

Here are 5 audio's with poor quality. I posted them last year. The files are only normalized and some eq filtering to make the female voice better.
Thank you in advance for all your effort.

Here are two more Emese files, including the raw file you spoke of:

I managed to do these 2, they're easier to listen to but don't cut off the sounds fully. I've also raised the volume so they're easier to hear, but be aware that they can go loud and then quiet in parts.
I tried the others and the AI would just cut out all of the good sounds no matter what I seemed to try. I've ran out of uploads on most of the AI sites that are decent as I was testing a bunch of different things. I'll keep trying things though.

thank you. the first one is really bad stuff. it was a cold winter morning so the heatpump gave a lot of noise that interferes with the noises we like to hear.
