Sexaudio.com - ILK - what happened?

Been meaning to ask this....

Anybody know what happened to ILK's site? - http://www.sexaudio.com

I checked his site last month and it was gonzo. I figured his domain must have expired and that he would be down only temporarily. Now it seems he's gone for good. Can anyone - especially Yeppie - shed some light on this?

For those who don't know, ILK was pioneer of sorts for the online audio voyeurism community. He began sharing ideas, files and stories back in '92 I believe it was. First on the newsgroups and later IRC. I traded a few cassettes with him back then and he used some of my earliest recordings on his CDs and website.

I'm thinking he may have left the game for good now.

Hey Eightman,

i don´t know either but thanks for thinking i could.

what i know is that there have been no updates at sexsounds.com for a very long time and only a few during the last years (i might be wrong but i think the latest files were uploaded in 2004).
i think he retired some years ago from the sexsounds scene - he once told about something like that on his blogtype of website (the link http://community.livejournal.com/sexsounds/ - not much happening there too).
this seems to have been a longer process. some years ago i wanted to contact him again but he did not answer my emails (he might not have got them as sexsounds seemed to be a more or less dead site then).

ilk has been my first contact to sexsounds on the internet, leading to the effect that i now often read about here: i´m not alone!
through his site and the newsgroup my first sounds were spread and he helped me into this "business".

sad to not see him anymore but that´s how time changes everything.

has anybody got more information?

Unfortunately I have nothing more to add except that I too had noticed the disappearance of sexaudio.com. Bummer drag! ilk was also one of the first contacts I made on the old newsgroups, I actually bought a couple of tapes from him back before he started doing the cd's. Oh well, the world moves on.

Regards,

The Audioman

I joined his site a couple of years ago but it became very evident quickly that updates were few and far between. Maybe he just lost interest. Who knows???

I believe he posted somewhere that he was giving it up because it was becoming too big a part of his life. It's definitely a pity - he had a huge archive...

I was not that familiar with his site... but from an outsider standpoint I would be a bit intimidated attempting any type of commercial website against Yeppie.

True, I am biased ... but if you think about it.. he offers a free 'board' with regular updates and messages, including daily 'interaction' with the members.

and his archive incorporates pretty much all sounds from every source possible (paid, amature, etc)... I would venture to say his archive is the largest on the net/globe for audiovoyeurs. Hard to compete with from any standpoint... so maybe his audiance/customer base moved over here.. who knows. Just my 2 cents.

Ilk has a myspace page linked up with a band called "Kind Robot" they have a myspace page also.
His personal website is gotilk.com. However I havent seen any updates in quite awhile.
The last bit that I read he stated sexaudio had been "hijacked", but im not really sure what that means. The site now totally sucks balls.
Ilk was truly a pioneer in this field, and was initially the one who got me interested in the genre.
Its a pity too because I know he had most of my files archived.

Well... i would venture to guess anyone that is interested in our 'fetish' can probably find this site pretty easily (I was alerted that an old friend of mine found it not too long ago.. and to my knowledge they have no passion towards audiovoyeurism whatsoever)... so I am guessing if someone does not want involved with this community... either they have a personal grudge against someone here... or they may have just moved on to other things.

I also believe this site is the biggest archive and board for audio Voyeurs worldwide. Yeppie has done a great Job!
