i have some mp3 files which are bigger than 16MB, is it possible to extent the upload limit? if not, what is the reason for it.

it is not possible to extent the file size limit because of server/php restrictions.

How big are the files we are talking about?

is it true that 128kbit is enough??
my files are all in 320kbit! so i could downsize them, one file is 17MB and the other 26MB.

For Hi-Fidelity music I recommend 320kbps (if mp3 is good enough) but as I wrote 128kbps is more than enough for our purpose.

i will think about reducing the files but is there no chance of improving your system/server. i read in the forum that in former time, the upload limit was even smaller.

It was 12MB when I first joined the forum. I guess I6MB is a good improvement.

hello yeppie, maybe you can expand the limit of uploads to 20MB. thanks. its annoying i just had a new file with 16,2 MB and after trying 4 times to upload it, had to resize it from 128kBit/s to 112 kBit/s just to get it up on the site.

what I wrote in my first answer is still valid:

You can always split files using 7zip so they will be joined automatically when unzipped.
