I noticed that your board offers a Chat function..... do you think any of the members would be interested in particiapting in a real-time chat? Maybe a 1-3 hour block once a week? (fridays/saturdays would probably be good.. but we are all on different time zones.. so guess we would need to agree on a time).

Just an idea...

to keep it simple (what was the second word in that kiss-abreviation, stupid, short, sexy, ...?), if anybody has the urge to chat, why not make a proposal (day + time + timezone)?
and if chatting becomes the major function on this board, we might have a women only chat room.

Interestingly, I checked the chat yesterday as well and thought it would be nice to have someone to talk to regularly. So, as proposed by yeppie, I suggest Monday- Saturday 23 pm - 1 am ( German time = GMT + 1)

Unfortunately... this is where the different time zones come into play.
I work from 1530-0030 Frankfurt time Mon-Fri.

That is why I suggested a possible weekend chat... that way work would not be an issue (although there may be a change of sleep habits involved for some to do this).

I guess the best way to start setting this up would be to "Poll" everyone on their Time Zone.... then we can come up with a sort of compromise.

As for myself... I am on GMT -08:00 (Pacific Time)

Hi folks, I am at GMT-5hrs. If you want to figure your time relative to GMT, you can go to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedform.html and calculate it. There is also a meeting planner at that location which might be helpful.

what i can say is that most of our members are from europe (england is gmt, germany is gmt +1) and the usa (gmt-5 to gmt -8). a reasonable chat time to me seems to be from midnight to 4am european (german) time which would be 6pm - 10pm at the east coast and 3pm - 7pm at the west coast. what do you think?

Thats why Yeppie gets the big bucks The timeline sounds good to me... I wont be able to make the first 2 hours... but will still be able to participate!

So, guess unless there are any arguments.... or complications with Yeppies proposal.... let it become law.

well Mark, glad you didn´t do it - i fell asleep in front of the tv yesterday ... shame, shame, shame, shame on me.

Am I blind, where is the Chat function? Or is this function now deactivated.

Deactivated because the chat was asked for but never really occupied. And the previously installed script didn´t work any longer.
