I think it´s time to decide about the up-/download script now. Do you like the recent one that got implemented late last year or do you prefer the one we had before (files attached to messages)?
Please vote to prevent me from spending some hours of work in vain.

The old way was easier to keep up with files as they were uploaded. The new way might be easier to keep up with if the date of the upload was more visible.

I voted for the old system because although the new one grew on me it always felt a bit awkward having the place so devided. Its annoying that if we revert we'll loose the rating feature, but maybe if its a thread where one would be useful in future then the active/techie members could take a few seconds and set up a quick poll in that thread... someone who wanted a submission considered for active membership would be the most common example of a thread that needs a poll i guess. Its not perfect, but I found the newer system harder to keep track of unless I logged in very regularly and when I wasn't logging in all the time I found I didn't use the ratings/comments as much as I thought I would.

A decision will be made soon so if you have an opinion, please vote!

Okay, not too much engagement ...

The decision has been made, we´re going to see the return of the old system soon (within the next days). Not only do we have a 6 - 2 poll result but a significant decline in discussion of the sounds since the invention of the new upload/download script. It definitely has its advantages (rating is one of them), but communication is the most vimportant part of a cmmunity.

the old script for your uploads has been re-installed today. when you write a message, you will see an attachment box beneath.

where have all the downloads gone??

all files have been moved to the archives before the new download script has been installed. i will upload a few new files soon, everybody else please send some too.
