New recorder recommendations

I think it's time to get a recorder soon. Maybe someone on here has some good suggestions. I need something that's is easy to hide, has great sound quality, and it would be nice to be able to somehow access the files from my phone so I can edit them and post them. Any suggestions are good. Thank you.

I'd say that for different recording situations, different recorders should be used. So to recommend the best devices for you, you might add which recording set-up is the most common you are going to have.
Olympus recorders are probably the most sophisticated solution, but you can't always hide them really good. I think gekko can give you advise which models have the best value for the price today.
Personally I have an Olympus DM 550 which I use for most situations and to be honest is the only device I really got decent recordings from.
In addition I have a sun mechatronics FL999 contact microphone which is very expensive and if you capture something you have to remove a hell load of side noises from the recordings. Also it's a very suspicious device compared to all "regular" recorders.
And at last I have a cheap but crappy USB recorder which I've never used as the (pick-up) quality just sucks. But there are better USB recorders now, so if that's something you are interested in, you could have a look at those. They can be found somewhere here in the sub-forum.
For spontaneous recordings with my phone I have a recording app on android, but that can't be compared with an olympus device aswell. It's called audioRec (in german "aufnahmegerät") from AC SmartStudio.
