Found finally a very ancient tape and converted it to mp3. Thought i lost it.

It's from 1999 when i stayed for a couple of days at my aunts home.
Age: 40/38 at that time.
It's a short one.

Anybody able to clean up the file?

Well, you've got quite some artefacts in there... While I wasn't able to get rid of them, I at least did some basic cleaning and I think it's actually not that bad.
Can you check, if these artefacts (humming / squeaking) also appear on your tape? Maybe it's got something to do with the conversion.

The noise appears as well on the tape. I remember the situation as I stood in a very narrow passage in their house with an old "ghetto blaster" (their property) in recording mode. I guess because of the narrowness there is a kind of echo or interference. Additionally I was very shakey with the fear of a scandal, hrhr.

Ancient times with ancient equipment. Today i would place a MP3-Recorder directly in their bedroom.

Yes for those in the forum but there are older ones in the archives.
The community was found in 2002 and shared some oldies in the first years.
