Soundgasm being down this weekend was for maintenance, I think. It was only temporary. I just checked. It seems to be running normal again. I think they do this around the beginning of the year every year to clean up the website, fix glitches, etc. But it is working again, as far as I know.

It is a hit or miss really in my opinion.

But on the flip side, i managed to recruit and induct some members from soundgasm and brought em them over to here by spreading ssl's good name, so if theres some request post it under the "The sound they love to hear" tab and who knows, the original owner of the file may repost his stash on here from the foregone soundgasm site ( as he would recognise and know his file best) as:

A) A lot of members on soundgasm have accounts here too

And

B) Many members here have downloaded stuff from the old soundgasms site as well as many may have accounts here and there too though they may not have been the original contributor

So who knows slowly we may rebuild the lost soundgasm site here again as you probably wouldve guessed it by now the latest soundgasm sex sound "overheardsex3" thread also got taken down recently.

True, but I am willing to bet that many do. There are people who post their own Soundgasm links here, but they don't upload. Those people obviously fall into an infinitesimal minority, but most people posting links are not posting their own links.

I have never posted a link that I didn't upload. That's true. It's also true that I haven't had the time to upload anything on SSL in a long time. I would rather not share links than post them and hope that someone picks up the slack.

First, very few people pick up the slack, and it is often the same people, which is unfair. Also, I am not suggesting SSL does this, but many file-sharing communities have rules about nomenclature, i.e., how you name and share files. It has to contain a minimum amount of information, and it has to be presented a certain way. If you don't follow those rules, your upload won't be accepted. People eventually learn to follow these rules. But again, I'm not suggesting SSL does this. I'm only saying that having the basic details is better for the community.

As I pointed out in my previous comment, to the extent that most users (not me) seem to be driven more by the story behind a sound than the actual sound, some details do matter. I have posted sounds on this forum with zero context because I had none. I literally just had the sounds. And many of those sounds, which I thought were pretty good, didn't get a lot of hits. It would take months for those sounds to even hit 30 downloads.

On the flip side, I have listened to many sounds I consider to be mediocre, and they get 300+ downloads within hours or days because the story behind them is juicy. That proves that details matter. I am also quite confident that many users who just post links without uploading or sharing any additional details bother to share some details when the story is super juicy. Practically all those who share their own sounds go through the trouble of sharing details. Why can't we have the same expectation from those who share other people's sounds?

That's great, but SSL is arguably the top platform for sex sounds. And many people on Reddit have heard of it. I think the primary reason Redditors stick to Reddit is because they can use the app and listen to new sounds instantly from their phone. I also think that Redditors like the gamification of the platform, i.e., the thrill of getting upvoted and having positive comments. They seek it.

I'm just sad that we miss out on a lot of sounds because people won't upload them and the links get taken down. When I discover a sound I like, I download it. There are sounds that have been taken down within hours after being uploaded, and I feel privileged to have downloaded them. I've also missed out on a lot because I thought I had time to download them, but I didn't because they got taken down quickly.
