Thats the real deal when it comes to voice recorder. I'm doubting to get one, USB recorder is nice to hide in any spot, but the quality recorded is unsatisfactory.
Do you leave the Olympus in the corridor for the complete night? Or do you use only in your presence?
I don't think you would regret it.
I keep it with me. I usually put it on the floor when recording. It has a lanyard hole so I've attached a short piece of fishing line (thin but strong) that I can just pull and quickly walk away without having to bend down to pick up the recorder every time I'm interrupted.

Really appreciate all the info shared Million1 !! I was going to buy another USB recorder... but I'm changing that for a handheld recorder I think.

Unseen couple. I heard them both nights. There were some sudden drafts under their door during the second session, but only a few moments were ruined. I had a usb recorder further down the corridor that caught the same session.
The recordings of the first two sessions are amazingly clear! It's as if the device was right next to them.
