Thank you!
A bit earlier I replied in detail to the comment about my setup — check that out too.

The device is very simple: it has just one three-position switch and one volume knob — even a child could figure it out, no problems at all. The biggest difficulty I had was with the recording module and its lights, but I think that was a defect and I just got a bad unit. Getting used to its behavior and figuring it out wasn’t difficult

BUT. I’ll warn you right away — this device isn’t even close to amateur level; it’s even worse, more like a toy. I bought it for testing and the result satisfied me. It could be that I found a good spot for the microphone, or the right wall material and thickness. My experience was successful, but reviews for this device are mostly negative. People either crank the Gain all the way up and get only noise, or they expect crystal-clear sound. But that’s unrealistic. The device claims an amplification of 20,000 times — which means any sounds will be amplified, including noise. If there are many people in the house, everyone makes sounds. Any creak, any shuffling on the floor — you’ll hear everything amplified. Are the neighbors downstairs drilling walls? You can go deaf in the headphones.

In short: It’s better than a glass against the wall or just putting your ear to the wall, provided you don’t turn the Gain to maximum.

If your budget allows, take a look at specialized devices for this purpose. The Japanese company Sun-Mechatronics makes good devices with built-in recorders. That’s already a professional level and there should be much less noise.

Check out the MW-55 model — I think it will be sufficient. I’ve seen it on eBay. Or the coolest and most modern option currently on the market is the FL1000 model, but its price hurts me just to look at it

Thank you so much at your detailed response! I wanted to invest in some, and you basically answered all of my questions :D
I might just try an entry level like the one you have, because i'm not going to invest (at least not right now) in "pro" grade material

UPDATE

Fresh recording. A short session after a break, and this time the girl isn't as loud as in the previous one :(

There's still a lot of noise, but the issue is no longer on the equipment side — it's because it rained all day and all evening. The sound of raindrops hitting the windowsills ruins the recording, but the needed sounds are still audible anyway

UPDATE

Fresh recordings. 004 has rain sounds again, but the second was recorded in good weather.

Hope you like it

Hi! Sorry you didn't like it! But not everyone has the opportunity to make clean recordings or specifically choose people for this. It's random.

A little more common courtesy could be in order. A one-word negative comment is not at all helpful to the community.

Something not your cup of tea? That's fine. More useful replies would be something like "I couldn't hear much, but thanks." "I couldn't get past this background noise." Etc.

Personally, I love this series. The mix of foreground to background sound is nice, and there are some really great captures here.
