I met my ex in the very same hotel I did many recordings and, thankfully,
she never found out about my perverse shenanigans.

But I had a close call around the time we were first getting to know each
other.

I was doing a recording one night in the same hotel corridor where her room
was located. She suddenly surprised me when she exited her room and spotted
me in the corridor. I quickly placed my recorder in my pocket before she fixed
her eyes in my direction and could figure out what I was doing.

However, she started whining about how we weren't seeing enough of each other,
so I took her somewhere for a quick cuddle and fiddle, just to keep her happy.

At one point, while she was embracing me, she started feeling the recorder in
my pocket and asked me what it was I had hidden away in there! I lied,
of course, when I explained that it was just the remote control for the air
conditioning unit in the reception area. Fortunately, she believed me.
Phew!

It was a kind of "is that something hard in your pocket, or are you just pleased
to see me?" moment.
