Windowsurfing - walking for sounds - TIPS REQUESTED AND OFFERED

Post by Auditory »

Hey there guys,

I'm new on here. I'm also still learning the art of catching sexsounds. Just to save time, and after having a look around this beautiful forum, let me just clarify: I'm Not talking about hotels. I would like to get better at 'window surfing', which is when your dog prefers to go on his walks at night, in residential areas.

I have recordings, though I'm no techie and your standards may be higher for many of them. But they Are the real deal. They are outside open windows of random houses, with a few variations as I find them. People fucking in their homes.

These, though very rewarding, take a long time and many excursions to find - especially in this cold season - but even as a beginner in the winter I've got at least 9 or 10 different couples and hookups in the last four or so months.

I'd like to hone the skills - basically, for seasoned walkers to share their experience, in instructional, direct format.

For example 'x clue outside the door, or x type of house, is usually good on y days/situations'. 'Go to x type of facades in y type of area', 'listen at x-type of windows' etc.

AsI said I'm a beginner (it's why I'm asking). So far, here are the few basic tips I can offer for window-surfing:

1. There are two things that are by far the most important clues, as far as I have seen: 1. Open windows, and 2. Light on behind them.
2. Therefor, when you turn into a new street, look straight for the open windows/open windows with lights, on both sides of the street
3. Any day of the week is possible. The most common I find tend to be Thursdays and Sundays/Monday mornings, then Fridays. I go out late, but of course the best in the daytime is Sunday (I don't go out in daylight)
4. Often, student residences have high concentrations of small flats, each needing a window. They are generally awake later. In this country at least, the easiest clue to identifying student blocks is: they have several bycicles parked outside. The more bycicles, especially when the building isn't so tall, the closer each bedroom is to the side of the house. You can also look up student housing websites.
5. For some reason (perhaps due to traffic or lighting) I have noticed a fairly strong trend in where good 'waves' are located. Where is this? It is: at corners of streets, and T-junctions. This can be annoying, as they're more exposed, but thinking about it now, probably over 60% of the sexsounds Ive found are from houses either at, or one door away from a junction.
6. If you go into town on a weekend, go quite late. The weather may be a factor of course. If you go to a bar or nightclub socially, go to the bathroom and see where the windows open into. Then see if they are fenced off from the outside or not.
7. If you go into town on a weekend, identify the late-closing bars/clubs, walk around there, and scope out the dark spaces or cul-de-sacs, such as refuse alleyways of neighboring businesses. And the nearest car park. Some cities have a club with a reputation, which usually closes late - there would be your best bet. Scout out these allyways etc, and identify places to hide and walk between. If you film, see how the light is in advance.
(Note: I never went to the drinking districts for this before, until a couple weeks ago I walked past a guy pumping a hot, lace-bra, pale skinned brunette girl doggystyle over a wheelybin. Now, Im very tempted. Remember, most drunk people aren't as smart as you are sober, and their places of choice could be more blatant that you'd think.
8. Finally (though I'm sure I have more), if you're recording with a phone live, then charge the thing first. Nothing worse than...you know the rest. Ouch. Also turn the screen off so it's not so visible. Scientists did a study in 2013, concluding that the shortest measurement of time is the iPhone battery life.

Like I say, I'm a beginner. There is so much more to learn. Please help me with tips for windowsurfing, and I will upload the results for you all.

Thanks again for making this happen. It's like coming home XD

This is an interesting post. Alas, I live in a small village in the countryside where the houses are set back away from the street so I don't have similar experience. Also, I don't have a dog to walk but now I've read this I'm tempted to get one!

This certainly seems to be a good way of hunting out sounds,I congratulate your enterprise.

I well remember my own student days living in shared houses, I used to hear bonking from neighbouring windows quite often. No aircon in the UK so with two active young bodies in a small room the only way to keep cool would be opening the windows. As I recall there were probably more than a few occasions when I provided similar entertainment for my own neighbours. I did try neighbour sounds a couple of times using my cheap cassette recorder but never managed to get anything of value (modern technology is just sooo great!).

Well done Auditory, this is good creative thinking :D. And yes, I'd like to hear the sounds, even if the quality is poor. We're not in a competition for best quality recording here, it's the content that matters.
