I've been a lurker for a while but have been into sex sounds for many years. I never really dove into the "kink" until recent. To cut to the chase, I usually visit my GF on the weekends and she lives in an apartment building that's loaded with sex sounds. I've heard both Men and Woman together or Women masturbating. It's like this place has no sound protection whatsoever lol If someone is fucking or a chick is moaning... You can hear it through the vents/walls and you can DEFINITELY hear it if you're walking the hallways. Even if you're on a different floor.
I have managed to catch 3 different occasions on 3 different floors with my Samsung Galaxy Note S20 phone and the audio is extremely clear because the mic on this phone is amazing. The problem is that this can get a bit risky because someone can be coming up/down the stairs and/or a neighbor coming out of their apt to take out the trash, go to the elevator, etc. and I'll be standing there recording lol not a good look but I've lucked out so far. Anyway, I've decided to go 007 and see if I can set up an audio recorder hiding in the hallway and catch some sex sounds over a 24 hour period.
I ended up ordering 2 of these https://www.amazon.com/Activated-Record ... 76&sr=8-11
The pro's is that this USB recorder can go continuous for 25 hours on one charge and it can record sounds from pretty far away. I tested the voice activation mode but it's not optimal for this situation and mostly recommended if you're looking to record audio in the same room otherwise it would pick up the sounds. I set it to XHQ audio quality and it had a PCM selection but I'm not sure what audio format that is so I haven't tested that. The Cons are that the sound seems pretty echo and a lot of hiss and buzz.
The only place I can see where I can hide it properly is on top of an EXIT sign in the hallway and I'm wondering if that buzzing and hiss is coming from the EXIT sign due to the electricity? Can anyone chime in on this? would it help if I put a small slim rubber mat under the USB recorder to avoid the buzz?
I'll be heading to the apartment this weekend and I want to be geared up and ready to capture some good recording but it i'm trying to get rid of that buzz. also, is there any other recorders you guys recommend I should try? I was thinking of a sound listening device through the walls but Im not sure what would be good for that. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Since the USB recorder goes on for 25 hours straight, it breaks down into 5 recording files with time stamps. I took a small clip from one of the files and you can slightly hear moaning. I have other sections of the files that you can definitely hear moaning but I cant sit through 5 hours at the moment. Any tips on improving the sound/recording quality? Any equipment recommendations?
P.S. On one recording I hear a girl moaning and as soon as the moaning starts, I can hear someone running down the stairs to listen LOL. We've got Sex sound lovers in that apartment building apparently.

Re: Apt Building setup
While this sounds like a 'target rich' environment it is definitely under less than ideal conditions. As it is not your place, you probably cannot try any recordings from inside the apartment without questions from the GF. Also, as you mentioned there may be other people wondering the hallways you are at risk for losing your gear. Thirdly, and most important... if you are not sure where the target sounds are coming from you will pick up A LOT of background noise from other sources (other than the electrical sounds), such as: loud televisions/loud music/crying kids/cars driving by/dishes clinking/etc etc. If you know where the sounds are coming from you can orient your equipment to minimize the background sounds, but just putting your equipment in a central location you will pick up everything and probably not be able to filter out any of the other noises.
Definitely a tricky situation, I would probably just enjoy my time with the GF and pass on this opportunity as the risk is too great for the sounds you may or may not be able to capture.
