In the USA last night, an television advertisement was pushing a flash memory stick that records.
We have seen that before. What was interesting about this one was 1) no battery, 2) 2 for 1 pricing, and 3) only one small light (easily covered by tape).
The price wasn't bad. For those interested, the web site is http://getflashcord.com/ (it isn't responding at the moment - which might be bad news for me!)

Re: Interesting Flash Recorded on Infomercial last night in
I took a look and these appear to be almost exactly the same as the USB recorders discussed here that I'm already using (just in a different packaging).
To address what you noted:
1. It really does have a battery, of course, built inside - just like the ones we've seen.
2. Even at 2 for 1 pricing, it looks like they are either $38 or $46 shipped for 2. They are already readily available for under $15 each shipped. I bought the last couple for $11 each.
3. The ones I bought also just have the one light. I don't cover it because it doesn't stay on during recording for the ones I buy. It just flashes to let you know it started then goes dark.
Looks like someone has simply taken the same Chinese product already out there and put it in a new packaging for sale in the USA.
