Outbox private messages never get sent?

Composed a private message to another member, pressed "Submit". The message moved to my "Outbox" but not to "Sent Messages". I guess it never got sent. Am I missing something here?

Private messages stay in your Outbox until the recipient has opened it. After that it should be moved to "Sent Messages".
