FRUSTRATED!!

Post by thesoundguy »

Gotta vent some frustration, bear with me here please.

I live in an apartment complex where I have had new neighbors just move in 2 weeks ago, the way the units are constructed their bedroom and my bedroom are side by side, our beds most likely a seperated by less than 2 feet but of course a wall between us.

On 3 seperate occasions now, I have either been awakened or have heard the unmistakable sounds of sex, just not loud enough to record through the walls, but if there is no tv on or no outside noise I can hear their bed creaking and some good moans and gasps from her, but not very audible and certainly nothing that a recorder would capture.

This, as one can imagine, is frustrating as Hell.

The only thing I can think to do is play some sex sounds really loud enought for them to hear on a quiet night and hope it gets them going, but on the other hand they are allready quiet (maybe because they dint want to be heard) and if I do that they will know damb well that if they can hear thru the walls so can I and then I wont fet any sounds at all in the future.

Damb frustrating, and any suggestions woyld be welcomed.

What are the walls made out of? Are there any outlet boxes on the wall that go into it? What about the ceiling? What about the floor?
Is there any way you can get past some of the barrier that separates you? I have never seen a building with a 2' thick wall. They are generally 2.5" with insulation in the space and sheetrock on both sides or 5.5" with sheetrock, and the 5.5" ones are rare.

I think so, too... any chance to record from the floor of the hallway?

Our apartments are upstairs units with outside access so there is no way to use a hallway as there is no common entrance.
Not sure the construction if the walls, sheetrock on both sides and the only electrical outlet on the wall that mutually adjoins our bedrooms is in the far corner, so no luck there.

It's just frustrating to be able to hear but not be able to record or share.......
