Do not Disturb signs?
Hello fellow Sex sound lovers as today's topic that I have is about " Do Not Disturb Signs " well since I Recently stayed a few hotels on a cross country road trip some hotels that I stayed over night had at the sign on the door and some rooms at signs on both rooms now the Question is how can you tell if people in that room is having sex or not because I've had bad luck trying to listen to those rooms really close without trying to draw attention to myself in the halls as one hotel I stayed at had camera's a few feet down the hall which was a Casino in Tunica,MS and I've tried walking the halls during random times in the morning but I did'nt really hear much even from inside the room all I could hear is doors slamming and people talking outside just Briefly but not anything worth recording so is it worth listening it on to a room that has the do not Disturb sign on it or should I just skip out on it?

AdamMK0147, this might be a very interesting topic but I always fail to completely read your postings because of the total lack of punctuation marks. Sorry, no offence meant, but this makes it impossible to read for me.

Re: Do not Disturb signs?
A DND sign is only an indication that the room is possibly occupied. It doesn't necessarily mean that
guests inside (if any) are having sex. It means the guests don't want to be disturbed by the hotel staff,
e.g. the housekeepers (room cleaners) until check out time. Of course, some housekeepers ignore these
signs in the morning and just knock on the doors anyway, because they are used to guests forgetting to
take the DND sign off prior to check out.

Re: Do not Disturb signs?
Someone posted a brilliant idea on here a while ago about DND signs. Take the one from your own room and stick a USB to the back of it, then hang it over the door of the couple you want to listen to. This hides the USB and slows you to walk away. Most poeple don't come out of their rooms once their in them, especially if they're having sex of a night time, so you should bf safe to have it hanging there. Just go back periodically to check

Re: Do not Disturb signs?
thanks I shall try and do that by hiding the USB behind the back of the DND sign and hoping to get a good capture of couples making love.

Re: Do not Disturb signs?
I wouldn't try that method if you know there are rowdy guests occupying a room (or rooms)
in the same corridor, because they might knock the sign off and discover the recorder.
I've seen drunken revellers doing just that (on more than one occasion) whilst returning to
their rooms after a night out. E.g. I once saw a young couple returning to their room, and
the guy thought it would be a fun idea to knock off every single DND sign in that corridor.
I later recorded the couple's sex session, of course, and they produced some good sounds!
('UK Couple 90' in the archives.)

DND Sign - Meaningless
TV - Meaningless
World/Romantic Music played loud - good possibility.
Best bet is walk around earlier like 6-7 when people are getting ready for dinner. Identify Voice of young couple and mark the room number to return.
Late night or early AM walking - hear kissing and the girl giggling - you are now on Red Alert!

I would add that if you hear the sound of a woman's giggling or laughter, you're almost 100% certain of a good catch.

I should amend my advice about TV... At normal volume probably someone watching TV, but if volume is abnormally loud, deserves a bit of attention.

Re: Do not Disturb signs?
I wouldn't agree with you on that. Of course "Most poeple don't come out of their rooms" after they finished having sex, but many do!stev4181 wrote: 04 Dec 2017 01:37 Someone posted a brilliant idea on here a while ago about DND signs. They go out to grab something to eat or drink or go to their seperate rooms, leave because one of them was a paid one etc.
Personally i'd never do that for safety reasons.
Also you really have to consider: If you leave a recorder unattended and someone finds it, he/she might probably call the cops/staff and set-up a trap for you when you come back to pick the recorder up. This happened to several persons and nearly happened to me once. Luckily I had a really weird sound setup that time and the couple who found it didn't know what it is and put it away from their door to the mailboxes of the house. But if they had called the cops to watch out for the package, I would probably not be here now.
Besides that: Do not disturb signs don't have anything to do with sex or couples. In my experience it might not even be a 10% chance. Probably same chances as for any other doors or even less chances than checking out rooms which are in more silent places of the hotel (e.g. rooms at the end of the floor).
Keep it safe guys.

Re: Do not Disturb signs?
what if you pull up the carpet near the door gap and remove 2 inches of the foam padding so that the recorder can fit without showing a bump?
