--- there is a new "design", something I wanted to do for a long time but today I felt some inspiration ... let´s call it spring-feelings.
I know the new design is far from perfect and not yet finished but I liked it enough to make it public. Take it as work in progress and feel free to comment, suggest, criticise, enjoy ...
I did notice and my first reaction was to think; "What has my computer done now?" Then I saw the thread and was relieved it wasn't something else I needed to sort out.

Very nice yeppie..its winter at the moment down in australia as were in southern hemisphere so bit of spring colours are cheerful..though i love winter too..

As a media designer I approve of change.
I would maaaaybe just use a softer green on the navigation bar.
But I guess that was planned already since you said you weren't finished xD

Not really ... my girlfriend suggested to use more of that ... I tend to keep that as an accent between the softer green elements
I appreciate your efforts to improve the site, but I have to say I'm not a fan of this color combo. It lacks contrast for me. Especially the blue of the clickable menu items is annoying in combination with it. Just to let you know my opinion about it.

Sure. I mean the top bar and also the bottom bar. They are a bit darker green and inside you have the clickable links (file archive, board index, notifications, private messages). They are still in their original blue I believe. That combination doesn't work for me. The contrast between them is not good. Could be something specific about how my brain interprets colors... Also the title above every post and the name of the poster is that blue inside a slightly green background.
now I understand what you meant. For me, these parts have more contrast now than before when they were blue on blue (yes, the links and fotns are still in their original colors) but I´m aware of the fact that the perception is an individual one. For this reason I´d be very much interested to know everybody´s impessions ...

I see. It also depends on the device.
Looks okay on my Laptop, kinda bright on my phone.
Those bright neon green colours and the blue font remind me of those old WinAmp Skins one could choose from
