Next year, I am trying Orange County for the 4th in 2020.
DTLA every Fourth has the anime convention descend. It's not what you think. It's bascially Mardi Gras/Carnival for geeks and worse - nerds. Underneath the sexy Japanese masks and lingerie/costumes are unlaid, nerdy types who crawl out of their gaming bunkers and see sunlight for one day a year before scurrying into the convention hall. Made the mistake of spending $$$ to stay in the main venue (Courtyard) hotel and except for hearing the snorting laughs and arguments about superpowers, the place was dry as a bone that weekend..
