Ex-ADT employee admits hacking into 200+ live cameras, spying on naked women and couples having sex

For those of you outside of the US ADT is a big alarm and surveillance company in the US.

Aviles would take note of which homes had “attractive women” so he could target their homes for his depraved scheme, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

This is quite scary!! I swear it doesn't feel safe anywhere these days... I mean c'mon your own security company can't be trusted!?

That being said, the voyeuristic streak in me does find it enticingly sexy

Ofcourse not everybody is as risqué as some of us and only in theory haha... just sayin' many of us would love to have such access into the most intimate moments of people's lives.

Or am I just the only pervy one around here?

I feel my privacy is threatened now. Sad to realize that any old ADT employee can tap into a hotel corridor camera and spy on me hanging out in hallways recording couples!

To be fair he has been living the dream :p I would love to have that privilege. But yeah I can see how it crosses a line...

Unsurprisingly, there are a LOT of extremely naïve people out there, who, no doubt,
fall into the same category as the masses of gullible people who believe everything
they read in the 'news'papers. Of course, these kinds of articles always give the impression
that this was just some 'rogue', "creep" - as the reporter describes him - of an employee, and,
in fact, you're in safe hands because all these (and other) types of eavesdropping occurrences are
extremely rare, and so you have nothing to be worried about.

Nope. Sorry. If you have cameras inside your home, then anyone who is determined enough,
can and will hack into those live feeds whenever they want - especially if you are a 'person
of interest' to the authorities (i.e. police, domestic and foreign intelligence/security agencies,
government departments/ministries/agencies, local government bodies, and even private
corporations). And the term 'person of interest' encompasses dozens of many different
meanings.

Unfortunately, everyone's been taught to believe that we live in a society of 'laws' and 'rules'.
This has always been a smokescreen to conceal the systemic corruption because, in reality,
there aren't any 'rules' at all, and any person, or any party, that wants to surveil you,
certainly does not need a signature from a judge or a government minister, as many people out
there believe. And, although I've said this before, I should remind you that, the technology
some of these agencies have been using for the past few decades, without our knowledge, is light
years ahead of anything that is supposed to even exist at the moment.
